November Woods and New Art...
Just look at the woods here in November! These woods beckon to me daily. It's hard to find a balance of replenishing nature time and studio time balanced with family care and chores. Seems best if I don't let the replenishment go to the last of the list though! Just look at what nature has to offer in November, fleeting month and time of year that it is. Part of what makes fall so special to me is its quick arrival and swift departure. Springtime, although equally beautiful, seems to last a bit longer. Some of the peak color on some of my own trees in the fall only lasts a couple of days before they all fall off at once!

Here, my dog Angus contemplates the creek below, or seems to. He's less on contemplation and more on action. Which, is a lot like me, but lately I've been slowing it down some to just walk, think, and absorb. Between sprints.

LOOK at the dappled color, and the grey sky behind. Such a delicious mood..... cozy.

I LOVE leaves like this, looking like rusted out metal...tiny holes rotting through the crackly thin veil that was once a stout green shield! I stuck this one on the side of a mossy tree trunk to get a better look.

Angus against the backdrop of arching, swaying smaller trees growing along the bank.

Some places are steep....

I love this hillside and the type of bark on these two old trees...Angy is tearing up the hillside in this one...

Sigh! Here is a good place to stop and just BE.

I love this one little leaf hanging on as best it can...

These woods are special at night, too. The other night I was running up a two lane blacktop in pitch dark save the moon, right near these woods. Angus and I thought we had jumped a deer, this large, really large animal sprang up before us, whether out of the woods crossing the road or from the pavement itself I am still not sure. I heard it before I saw it..the way it sprang up in front of us and rushed up the road and off to the side... I thought it was a deer. Then I saw it in full sillouette from a distant car's lights. It was a DOG! A canine of some sort. Maybe feral, but REALLY big. It was just...strange.

Here are my first Christmas Pieces of 2009 along with a little Fall Moon...
This guy is on e bay for 1 week, he is so cute at 6" high.

These are my "Christmas Kitty Jinglers" They are cats on a stick with jingle bells hanging from their collars. Perhaps you can still see the Halloween Loving influence...just a tiny bit? Well, I am transitioning! Much like the same named phase of childbirth, it can be painful.

More to come soon!! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, please bring me November. The weather here is not yet crisp and chilly. Just "normal". Mid 70's-low 80's and sunny. Sigh.

Hi Brandi! I love November. I think next to October, it's my favorite month. Or December. LOL! Love your woods, they remind me ours. :) I'm transitioning to Christmas, too. We'll get it. :) Have a great weekend! xoxox Pam
